Twelve Month Check-Up

So Big!!!

Yep, at her 12 month check-up Molly measured in above the 100th percentile at 32 and 3/4 of an inch. She continues to be a long and lean little one, weighing in at the 50th percentile, with 20 pounds, 11 ounces. And her head size, well, it keeps on growing, but is still measuring in around the 25th percentile. Our pediatrician assures us this is normal.

Overall, Molly Mac is doing great! She says Mama, Dadda, dog/doggie, and Ziggy (Grandma's dog). She also knows what several objects are and will go and get them for you if you ask. She loves to go and get her baby doll, her water bottle, and a book. Right now her very favorite book is "Thank You God for the Things I Love." When she decides it is time to read it there is no stopping her. She will bring it to you and adamantly let you know she wants to sit on your lap and read it right then and there, no matter what else you might be doing. She knows where her nose is and will point to it if you ask her to (well, some of the time she may point to an ear, but for the most part she gets nose right). She is also pretty good at identifying her head, thanks to several rousing renditions of "Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes ..." One of her other favorite games is playing chase around the dining room table.

Once a week Molly and I have been going to a "Tumble Tots" class, which she seems to enjoy. She is working on perfecting her log roll, and loves to swing on the rings. She also loves to do "Peek-a-boo pull-ups" on the little kiddo bars, and is getting pretty good at forward rolls over the rolly mat.

Molly also loves to go places, and when you say "Let's go" she will hurry over to the garage door and wait to get into the car. Last week we went on a shopping trip with Grandma and Molly even helped to pick out this new shirt! She was quite the little shopper!
It is still hard to believe that Molly McKenzie is already one year old! It has been a blessed year and I can't wait for what the next one will bring.
